When I was living in Zhenjiang, China, I would often crave American food.  So what did I do?  I dragged Tami to McDonalds since it was the only "American" food available in our city.  Since I left, they've now got a Pizza Hut!  I don't know why I'm jealous since we have them here in San Diego too!

Now that I'm back in America, there are days when I totally crave Chinese food!  But it's just not the same as the stuff I had in Zhenjiang.    The good news is I haven't lost my kuàizi 筷子 (chopsticks) skills! 

Last weekend we celebrated my niece's 3rd birthday at my parent's house in Lancaster, CA.  Since I've been in China the past 2 years, this is the first birthday that I've been able to celebrate with them.  Here are 2 pictures from the event.

Tami, my teammate while I was in China, is still teaching in China.  But she was in California this past month on vacation and came down to visit me.  We had a fun time catching up.

One day we splurged and went to Sea World.  The rain even held out until the very end of the day. 

Good times! 

 My niece (who is 2 and a half ish) stayed with me this past weekend.  We had a fun time hanging out, but I was wiped out by Sunday night.  How do single moms do it?
